Clinsight in the big leagues

Established in Gironde, the editor of management software for clinical trials known as Clinsight has just opened an office in Poitiers. Here is the portrait of a human-sized company on the rise.

Mathieu Fourtillan is all smiles. Nearly eight years after having founded Clinsight on the shores of the Garonne river with the help of Yann Fleitour (*), the director of this small business has a lot to look forward to. Following a full year of intense negotiations, this editor of management software for clinical trials has just signed a substantial contract with the worldwide leader in animal health, the Merial group. “A superlative reference”, enthuses the young man from the Bordeaux area. It should be added that Clinsight nosed out Oracle Clinic and e-Trials, the “top two” of the market.

The one-time pharmacy student - “I was meant to enter the pharmaceutical industry” - presently oversees a team (soon) composed of 14 persons to be found in Cenon, near Bordeaux, and in Poitiers, a second home base activated in 2005, which “draws the company closer to Parisian head offices”. “Before that, one of our commercial engineers was based in Paris, he wished to relocate in the French provinces. As for myself, I wanted to get closer to Paris. And so, we split the difference.”

An international destiny

While awaiting the construction of the Pâtis hotel for companies, this small concern is developing its activities in the Beaulieu area (4 persons). It should be mentioned that made by Clinsight “ready-made solutions” are not addressed to industry alone (Bayer animal health, Merial, Novartis animal health…). Clinical research organizations as well as cancerology research centers drive direct benefit from the company’s technologies.

Canada, Switzerland, England, the United States, Spain… Clinsight unswervingly sets its sights on international markets. Moreover, “later on this year, we are likely to have colleagues in Spain and the United States. Our customers demand it”, carries on Mathieu Fourtillan who professes “not to regret the pharmaceutical industry”. I simply hope that ten years from now, we will still be around!”
