Public and private sectors hand in hand

Grand Poitiers (Communauté d’agglomération de Poitiers). Historic cofounder of the Biopole Sante, Grand Poitiers has assigned itself the mission of developing an economic branch revolving around biotechnology activities. Local government is the association’s main source of financing.

Conseil Général de la Vienne (Departmental Council). The Departemental Council of Vienne gives its financial support to the Biopole Sante.

University of Poitiers. The other historic cofounder of the Biopole is the University of Poitiers, with its laboratories, students and “university-based center of relations with companies” (Cure)… Lateral relationships with economic actors are numerous and dense.

Poitiers Hospital (CHU). With three teams having been awarded the Inserm label, the Poitiers university and hospital center plays an indispensable role in the Poitiers Biopole, of which it is equally an historic member. 

INRA. The national institute of agronomic research has its regional headquarters in Lusignan and assumes an active role in the everyday functioning of the plant science-agronomy branch. .

INSERM. The national institute of health and medical research is the only French state organ dedicated 100% to biomedical research and the health of populations.

CNRS. Similarly indispensable, the national center of scientific research provides accompaniment and financing for several Poitiers-based teams and laboratories.

Other partners. Among the partners of the Biopole Sante, one must not forget the Conseil régional Poitou-Charentes (Regional Council).  Espace Mendès-France (a science activity center) and the Poitou-Charentes DNA school are operational partners of the Poitiers Biopole in its everyday functioning.
